Into the Well began as a healing journey of self-acceptance. I took up ballet again, in my adulthood, in an effort to connect to my body and self, and found it to be wildly healing in every possible way. I'd make a great playlist, turn on the Christmas lights in my backyard and do ballet under a disco ball. This simple act of showing up for myself and doing something that I loved, reminded me of my worth and value. It reminded me of what it felt like to exist for myself. I was inspired to create a platform that celebrates authenticity, living fully into your life, and giving space to yourself to thrive.

I am passionate about inclusion and hospitality. Into the Well is all about providing space for people. I hope to bring a message of self-acceptance, self-care and love to all people, at any place in life. I often say that our studio is "for all the bodies, all the people." I've been so inspired by the way inclusivity can change  the way we experience movement, I am honored to share space with the incredible, talented people of The Collective and for the community it provides.

My journey here started as a community member. Feeling lost in myself and not sure what to do, I left my comfort zone and sought out a new community. I had no idea that what I would find would be so beautiful and life changing. After 3 years as a member, I decided to become part of the team and utilize my wide skill set to help grow the studio. I’m currently working on my 200 hour yoga training but my gifts lie in the background of it all; social media, dreaming up new ideas/events, connecting with people and planting seeds to watch them grow! I truly can’t wait to see your faces at the studio or chat with you on our socials. I promise you joining our community can change your life; I know from experience.

Mary Lu is a self-described yoga fanatic and food enthusiast who loves talking to anyone about anything. She can regularly be found at hot yoga or on a run right before going to eat burgers or barbecue with friends. She feels empowered by challenging her body and trying new things. Mary Lu started BodyTalk after a series of conversations with 7-12th grade girls who discussed openly the pressure they felt to ‘fit in’ to a prescribed shape and look. After years of working in luxury retail and struggling through disordered eating, Mary Lu connected personally with these conversations and wanted to ensure that all people were given space to voice their experiences and be encouraged to practice self-love, acceptance and bodily self-care. Mary Lu lives fully into the belief that all bodies have immeasurable value and worth. Taking care of our body is not about shrinking ourselves, but instead is about accepting that our body is valuable now – just as it is - and that to be our best and most authentic selves we have to take care of our heart, mind, soul and body.

I’ve been teaching yoga for about 2 and a half years now, and the most important thing I’ve learned is to always be a student. I’m always learning and growing! I teach restorative classes as well as slow flow, and cherish the moments my students get to truly relax and be at home with themselves in their practice. I’m currently working toward my next level YTT, am a Reiki Master, and certified to guide students in breathwork! If you want to reset and need a breath, come practice yin with me. If you want to grow a strong foundation, I’ll see you in beginner slow flow class. Meet me on the mat!
